Decathlon's first store in Ireland, and the company's Irish headquarters: 4,000 m² of retail floor with 700 m² of offices, built on a disused car park on St Margaret's Road. Lead civil and structural engineers from planning permission through to construction, with Demesne Architects as lead consultant and architect and Mannings as contractor. Fingal County Council wanted the site to stand as an example of surface water management, so the drainage design runs on permeable paving, grasscrete, tree pits, swales and underground attenuation. The structural steel frame features a larger truss acting as the floor and roof support to the office block and allowing large open spans for the ground floor retail.
