A modern mews house off Avenue Road, taken on after the client bought the site with planning permission already in place. The plot is tight, so the house sits on a raft foundation. From the street the roof reads as a conventional pitch, but it is split down the centre by a glazed corridor running the length of the first floor, which brings light into the middle of the plan where a mews house would normally be darkest.
